As mentioned in previous posts, we sadly lost the proposed poems for the next two issues and the contact data for the writers. This is a last call to the proposed poets for Fade05: you have until 6PM (GMT) tomorrow (30th August) to send back the poem with the editor / poet correspondence. If we do not receive a reply, we cannot publish you for the issue agreed.

Please be aware however if you contact us after this date we can publish you in later issues.

VERY IMPORTANT NEWS FOR POETS DUE FOR PUBLICATION IN FADE05 AND FADE 06

There has been a slight trauma with the Fade inbox and folders; this has resulted in the acceptances for Fade05 (September) and 06 (October) being lost. The correspondences with the aforementioned people have also gone, so we cannot contact them to get the poems back.

We therefore ask the poets who have been accepted for said issues to contact us as soon as possible at fadepoetry@gmail.com. The to-be-published poem must reside in the e-mail, and a copy of the correspondence between editor and poet is ideal.

Poets published for the September issue have until Wednesday 31^st August to contact us, and those for the October issue have until Friday 30^th of September. If we are not contacted before these dates, we cannot publish you on the dates first proposed; we will adjust our schedule in favour of other agreed acceptances and publish them early. If we are contacted after these dates, we pledge to publish the poems in later issues of Fade.

We apologise for the inconvenience and would like to reassure other submitters that there has been no other fault; we still have your poetry and are assessing it.

Call for war poetry.

I am putting together a chapbook of war poems for my employers. There will be a relative balance between established names e.g. Whitman, Lowell and new / unknown writers.

There are about six poems that I need, and I will accept between 1-4 submissions from each person. Please bear in mind I can only publish two poems per poet. The chapbook will be out November-time. We haven't yet decided on a specific date for release nor a submissions deadline, but we would like work sent to us as swiftly as possible so we can further work and development on the project.

Free-verse and experimental leanings are preferred, but they must be specifically about war. If you can offer poetry on wars such as the Korean, Iraq and Cold Wars this would help. I'm looking to represent varying aspects of war, so please remember this: I do not want purely violent trench line experiences, imagination is encouraged. In terms of example, think of how war affects everyone and not just the soldiers; how participating and even non-participating countries are hindered, hurt and depressed in a multitude of ways by the horror of combat.

Unfortunately I cannot offer monetary payment but those published will receive contributor copies, up to three per person.

Fade01 has been edited to fit in with the new design of the journal. The changes are practical rather than aesthetic. The changes include page numbers and issue month date.

In addition to this, there will now be two versions of each issue. One to read online -- {e} -- and one to be printed-- {p}. This will enable the poetry to be read easier.

Fade02 will be out next week.

We are delighted to announce plans for our first issue.

There will be a three-week-period in which we invite submissions from the 29th of march to the 20th april. After this, we hope to have a digital copy of the magazine available for download on the 2nd of May, from the North Staffordshire Press website (see below).
